What is this sound ringing in my ears?
Something is trying to awake my fears.
Echoes of voices and guns loud and clear,
Will this be my last day here?

They asked if I believe in God.
Now they are really beginning to prod.
Should I tell them or should I deny,
The One Who is above on high?

They are coming closer, what should I say?
Father, Help me in Jesus name I pray.
The gun is pointing at my head.
“This is your last chance” is what he said.

I sat there for a minute and the replied,
“I choose Christ”, for me He died.
At that point I heard the sound,
I knew in Christ my soul would be found.

I saw a light so bright and free.
Finally, my Jesus I did see.
That is all that mattered to me,
For with my Savior I’d forever be.
