A day of forced affection
And way too much pink
We pledge our undying “love”
Without stopping to think

Most cave in to the pressure
And buy cards and flowers
Too bad most of the generosity
Only lasts twenty-four hours

Our love should be shared
Out of our own free wills
Not when Hallmark says
They just want their dollar bills

All the cards and flowers
So flippantly given away
